Position Summary: Responsibilities include but are not limited to advanced set up and operation of various production machines as well as performing general maintenance to keep machines operational.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Custom fabricates components using CNC machining, cutting, and other metal working equipment to complete assigned work orders.
  • Keep machines operational by performing general maintenance and electrical troubleshooting, addressing any failures or malfunctions with corrective actions.
  • Prepare raw materials for processing when necessary.
  • Examine finished products and verify conformance to quality standards and trouble shoot if necessary.
  • Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.
  • Verify counts on finished products to determine if product orders are complete; mark or tag identification on parts; load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances (forklifts).
  • Record information such as the number of products tested, production readings, and dates and times of product production.
  • Separate products according to weight, grade, size, and composition of materials used to produce them.
  • Separate defective products for reprocessing.
  • Place products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping.
  • Remove products, machine attachments, and waste material from machines as needed.
  • Transfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas of plants and warehouses, by hand or using hand trucks or powered lift trucks.
  • Read gauges and charts, and record data obtained.
  • Clean and maintain work areas, machines, equipment, vehicles, and products using 5s principles.
  • Assist others as needed to process orders.
  • Participates in process improvement projects when assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education:
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience:
  • Metal working machine set-up and operation, welding, and maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting. Experience with automated equipment; must have mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiar with Soldiworks (or equivalent), Solidworks CAM, SolidCAM Plugin, AUTOCAD (or equivalent), CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, laser cutting, waterjet cutting

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to understand and interpret product drawings, the ability to read, write and communicate in English.
