Description

Under general direction by the Department Director, and in collaboration with the Medical Director of Radiology, staff radiologists, and other members of the medical staff, the Radiology Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the department and assists the Director and Manager with those management functions for which the Director is accountable. The Radiology Supervisor is technically and clinically competent in radiologic technology for all ages served: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Demonstrates and adheres to department standards and serves as an administrative and clinical resource for department staff. Clinical and technical responsibilities account worked hours as needed. Serves as a customer service representative to patients, their families, the public, the medical staff and all caregivers. Participates in quality assurance and organizational improvement activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of a program in radiologic technology approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association.
  • California Diagnostic Radiologic Technology Certification upon hire or
  • California Fluoroscopy Certificate/Permit upon hire or
  • California Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification upon hire or
  • California Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification upon hire or
  • National Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire or
  • National Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire or
  • National Certified MRI Technologist - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists upon hire or
  • National Certification from Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board upon hire.
  • 3 years experience in an acute care/hospital radiology department.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced qualifications in at least one specialty imaging area.
  • Supervisory experience.
