Work in the Surgical ICU (SICU) of a hospital setting 13-week assignment with rotating 12-hour night shifts (7P-7A) Rotating weekend requirement No on-call responsibilities Uses Meditech documentation system Procedures performed on unit include chest tubes, GI scopes, intubations, central lines, art lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes All travelers required to float per facility floating policy Requirements Active TX RN license or compact license required; temporary license not accepted Minimum 2-3 years of ICU experience required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification Strong critical thinking skills required MICU/MSICU background preferred IABP and CRRT exposure preferred Meditech experience preferred US SSN and DOB required for consideration No gaps in work history of 90 days within the past 12 months Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients Badge in and out for each shift and take a full 30-minute lunch break Scrub color requirement: navy scrub top and pant with navy or white scrub jacket Tattoos must be covered when feasible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted American Traveler Job ID P-766864. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
