This is a backfill of an existing seat, the hiring manager is ready to move quickly, and the interview process is deliberately lean: one conversation with the hiring manager and the department head, followed by an offer for the right candidate.
The OpportunityOur client operates in the global insurance and reinsurance market with a dedicated focus on the Property & Casualty space. The Claims team handles a varied book of General Liability exposures and demands careful investigation, disciplined documentation, and strong independent judgment. This is a seat for a seasoned adjuster who can carry complex files end to end and be productive quickly.
The WorkYou will investigate insurance claims, evaluate damages, and determine coverage eligibility across a varied General Liability book, with some Property Liability exposure. You will review and analyze policy documents, claim forms, and supporting documentation, and you will communicate directly with policyholders, witnesses, and third-party experts to gather the information needed to assess each file.
You will negotiate settlements with policyholders, claimants, and their representatives, and you will collaborate with legal and medical professionals on the more complex losses. You will document the claims process thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company guidelines, and you will deliver strong service to policyholders and stakeholders, addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely, professional manner.
As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor and support junior claims adjusters through hands-on guidance, case review, and day-to-day training.
Who You AreYou are a seasoned Property & Casualty claims adjuster with deep experience across a range of General Liability losses, from trip and fall to employers liability and occupational disease. You are comfortable managing complex files independently, you work well with both internal teammates and external parties, and you bring a flexible mindset that lets you take on new types of losses as the book evolves.
What We Are Looking ForMinimum of five years of claims handling experience in the Property & Casualty spaceDemonstrated experience handling a range of General Liability losses, including trip and fall, employers liability, and occupational diseaseSome exposure to Property Liability matters, including first party and third party seepage and pollution liabilities, a plusA flexible approach and willingness to expand coverage knowledge across new lines of lossAbility to work independently while also partnering effectively with internal and external stakeholdersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Outlook and the broader Microsoft Office suiteAdjuster licenses in multiple states a plusBachelor's degree preferredLocation and ScheduleThis role can be fully remote anywhere in the United States, provided the candidate is able to work Eastern Standard Time hours. For candidates based in the Philadelphia or Boston metro areas, a hybrid schedule out of the client's local office is also available.
