Job TitleJoin an onsite support team for a Navy research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) network as a Tier 2 systems administrator in Portsmouth, VA.
You will be the escalation point above Tier 1, giving advanced desktop and systems support to network-connected and standalone labs, and working side by side with engineers and cybersecurity staff to keep the environment reliable and compliant.
What You Will DoHelp manage Windows domain environmentsSupport desktop operations and troubleshooting across RDT&E labsBuild and deploy virtual machines for system integrationInstall, configure and maintain workstation hardware and approved softwareHandle server and workstation installs, technology refreshes and scheduled upgradesTroubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, including root cause on failed componentsMaintain endpoints: workstations, laptops, printers, desk and mobile phones, and audio/visual gearRun endpoint backups and protect data integrityTake part in patch management, configuration management and change managementTrack and implement DISA STIGs, and help build RMF artifacts and continuous monitoringWrite and maintain technical documentation, and lead or support projectsWork daily in MS Teams, ServiceNow, Active Directory and Microsoft Configuration ManagerRequired Qualifications10+ years in computer systems analysisWindows domain environmentsVirtual machine builds and deploymentsSystem patching and configuration managementDISA STIG implementation and DoD cybersecurity practicesStrong troubleshooting and problem solvingCustomer service mindset; works well alone and on a teamBachelor's degree in a business or technical field (typical)Active DoD Secret clearanceOnsite in or near Portsmouth, VAPreferred QualificationsWindows 11 training (Udemy or equivalent)Red Hat Linux system administration training (Udemy or equivalent)macOS Jamf training (Udemy or equivalent)DCWF Windows System Administrator (Cyber Exchange/JKO, DISA-US1379)Microsoft Certified IT Professional group id: 91082210
