Summary
You own the analytical answer to GeneDx's top-line questions: how volume grows, what drives it, and how it turns into revenue. Commercial leaders and the head of product come to you when they need an answer they can act on.
This is not a reporting role and it is not a request desk. It is closer to running a strategy and analytics practice for the top line of the company, with the leverage of AI agents in place of a team, a shared governance layer that keeps the numbers consistent and specialists you can draw on. Part of the job is answering what leaders ask. The other part is holding up a mirror: surfacing the issues and opportunities they have not asked about yet.
This is a senior individual contributor role. You will spend most of your week producing analysis, with AI agents as your hands, not directing people.
Job Responsibilities
Own the answer to top-line questions. Where a question spans commercial volume and the revenue cycle, you are the single accountable owner, drawing on the RCM Analytics Director as the revenue-cycle specialist so leaders get one answer.
Understand the commercial and product businesses well enough to see the problems leaders are trying to solve and bring structure to them: a well-formed problem statement and issue tree that separates what matters from what happens to be measurable.
Act as the principal analytics advisor to the Chief Commercial Officer’s organization, and work closely with product leaders on the product questions Enterprise Analytics takes on
Establish and run the operating rhythm with commercial and product leadership: integrate into their existing forums and put in place the mechanisms that keep analytical work focused on the right priorities and make trade-offs visible to the people making them.
Lead engagements end to end. Orchestrate AI agents working within the team’s shared governance layer to build the analysis, apply your own judgment and standards to every intermediate result, and produce materials that hold up in front of an executive audience. The agents draft; you decide what is true and what it means.
Drive the business to a decision and monitor the outcomes. Execution ownership and discipline stay with the business. Your accountability is that the decision was well founded and that we know whether it worked.
Surface what nobody asked about. When the numbers say something about the top line that leaders need to hear, elevate as needed, and make sure the responsible leader hears it from you before anyone above them does.
Build on the team’s governed set of definitions and methods, and work with the Director of Data Governance and business stakeholders to develop new ones where the work requires them.
Contribute what each engagement teaches back to the shared repository, so the function compounds with reusable analyses, better methods, and sharper instructions for analytic agents.
Education, Experience, and Skills
Director-level or equivalent senior individual contributor experience, typically ten or more years, in commercial strategy, growth analytics, management consulting, or strategic finance, with a record of owning the analysis behind decisions that moved a company’s top line.
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, scientific, economics, or business field, or equivalent practical experience. An MBA or an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline is a plus.
You still do the work. If you have moved fully into managing others and no longer build analysis yourself, this role will not suit you.
Familiarity with problems of the scale this seat will face: sustaining unit economics in a complex reimbursement landscape, where to invest field capacity, how coverage and pricing decisions play through to volume and revenue.
A track record as a trusted advisor to C-level and VP leaders: changing a decision with evidence, delivering findings they did not want to hear, and reprioritizing or declining a request through a mechanism rather than a favor.
Exceptional problem structuring and communication: from an ambiguous question to a problem statement and issue tree, and from analysis to a message-first narrative.
Hands-on, current practice using AI tools and agents in your own analytical work, and a clear view of where they are reliable, where they need checking and where th
