About the Role
Norton Rose Fulbright has a long-standing commitment to leveraging technology to enhance legal services and streamline operations. We are seeking a Legal Engineer – Litigation to support the design, build, and adoption of AI-enabled and technology-assisted workflows for disputes matters. This role sits within the Legal Engineering function and reports to the Head of Legal Engineering, while working closely with litigation practice groups, Innovation, Knowledge Management, and other business services teams.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who can help litigation teams use approved technology responsibly and effectively. The successful candidate will identify high‑value litigation use cases, design practical workflows, support adoption, and help ensure that AI‑assisted litigation outputs remain accurate, defensible, secure, and aligned with lawyer professional obligations.

As a litigation‑focused legal engineer, you will work directly with lawyers and practice teams to understand how litigation work is performed, identify opportunities for efficiency gains, and build or configure practical solutions that support the delivery of high-quality legal work. You will help move promising ideas from the proof of concept phase into repeatable, matter‑ready workflows.
You will also contribute to the firm’s broader approach to responsible AI in litigation by helping evaluation methods, and adoption materials that support defensible use of approved tools across disputes practices.
Litigation Workflow Design & Build
- Partner with litigation teams to identify, scope, and prioritize high‑value workflows across various disputes use cases.
- Design, prototype, test, and support adoption of AI‑enabled litigation workflows using firm‑approved tools and platforms.
- Develop repeatable prompts, templates, checklists, and workflow patterns for litigation use cases such as chronologies, fact development, issue lists, document summaries, deposition preparation, witness preparation, and case strategy support.
- Work with eDiscovery, practice support, and litigation teams to align legal engineering solutions with document review, analytics, case management, and other matter workflows supporting each phase of the litigation cycle.
- Develop and maintain evaluation methods to test accuracy, completeness, source grounding, and defensibility of AI‑assisted litigation outputs.
- Experience developing scalable frameworks, playbooks, reusable knowledge assets (including skills), or solution patterns.
Practice Enablement and Adoption
- Partner with the Innovation team and AI & Innovation Counsel to integrate approved AI and automation tools into existing litigation workstreams while preserving lawyer judgment, supervision, confidentiality, and client requirements.
- Create reusable adoption materials, matter intake questions, workflow guides, and examples that help litigation teams recognize when and how to use approved tools.
- Capture lessons learned from pilots and live matters to improve repeatable workflows and contribute to the broader legal engineering roadmap.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work directly with the Head of Legal Engineering, Innovation leadership, litigation partners, associates, paralegals, eDiscovery, Knowledge Management, IT, and Information Security to co‑design practical solutions.
