Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and preliminary interviews, documenting each step from the initial consultation to the conclusion of treatment.
- Assess clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to develop appropriate intervention and recovery plans tailored to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
- Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, effectively utilizing therapeutic techniques that encourage client participation and healing.
- Monitor clients' progress throughout the treatment plan, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including mental health specialists, physicians, and social workers, to design comprehensive intervention strategies.
- Work in partnership with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care and support.
- Proactively identify behaviors that may impede recovery and develop strategies to address these challenges.
- Support family members and primary caregivers in managing mental health issues, offering guidance and resources to aid in the healing process.
Your primary responsibility will be providing counseling services to a diverse range of clients reflecting the community we serve in San Antonio. This includes individuals from various age groups, socioeconomic statuses, and cultural backgrounds. By understanding various perspectives and experiences, you will lead impactful therapeutic interventions that address specific needs, including stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health disorders.
Qualifications- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Active and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW within the state of Texas.
- A minimum score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
- Prior experience working as a mental health counselor, with a proven track record of successful patient outcomes.
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic health records systems, preferably AVATAR, for efficient patient management and documentation.
- In-depth understanding of mental health disorders, including the emotional and physical aspects, as well as experience with addiction treatment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective interactions with clients and healthcare professionals.
- Empathetic interpersonal skills and a deep commitment to fostering a supportive therapeutic environment.
- Experience with trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Familiarity with best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
- Comprehensive knowledge regarding the effects and management of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical specialists.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 annually, reflecting the importance of your expertise and contributions to our clinic. Additionally, you will be eligible for a signing bonus as part of our commitment to attracting skilled professionals.
