Location: Houston, TX 77028
Job Type: Full-time
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
Job Summary
This accounting position will oversee essential financial and accounting tasks to ensure smooth business operations. The successful candidate will possess strong bookkeeping skills, experience in manufacturing or construction accounting, and advanced proficiency in both Sage and QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Maintain accurate general ledger accounts, process accounts payable (AP), and manage accounts receivable (AR).
- Software Operations: Utilize Sage and QuickBooks daily to track project costs, generate financial reports, and reconcile accounts.
- Payroll & Compliance: Process company payroll and ensure accurate tax withholdings and timely tracking.
- Job Costing: Track and allocate material (steel), labor, and overhead costs to specific fabrication projects.
- Reconciliation: Conduct monthly bank, credit card, and vendor statement reconciliations.
- Reporting: Prepare weekly cash flow updates and monthly financial statements for management review.
Qualifications & Skills
- Software: Proven experience working with both Sage and QuickBooks is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in steel fabrication, manufacturing, or construction accounting is preferred but not required.
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent verified work experience).
- Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
