Within NEI, our Data Center Infrastructure Solutions team is transforming how data centers are built—delivering modular, scalable solutions that accelerate deployment, reduce risk, and support the rapid growth of AI and cloud technologies.
SLB New Energy & Industrial is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of modular data center infrastructure. This role focuses on mechanical and piping systems, supporting projects from design through manufacturing and commissioning.
This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for candidates with 3–10 years of experience in mechanical design and a strong interest in large-scale infrastructure or data centers.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and review mechanical and piping designs for data center modulesCheck and approve engineering drawings, layouts, and documentationCollaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure designs meet project and code requirementsReview vendor drawings and technical submittals (vendor experience is a strong plus)Support preparation of technical requisitions and equipment specificationsAssist with material take-offs (MTOs) and bills of materials (BOMs)Partner with manufacturing teams to support build and resolve design issuesProvide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshootingParticipate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of productsQualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or related field)3–10 years of mechanical design experienceExperience with piping systems and mechanical equipment designFamiliarity with industry codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, NFPA, etc.)Experience reviewing or working withvendor drawings/submittals preferredProficiency with CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and collaborate across teamsCandidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US without sponsorship.
