Inside Sales – Edge GroupThe Edge Group (Energy and Design Efficiency Group) is a specialized division of Scott Electric focused on providing comprehensive lighting solutions for commercial, industrial, and energy-efficiency projects. Our team partners with customers, contractors, manufacturers, and sales representatives to provide lighting design, product recommendations, project management, and energy-saving solutions. We are willing to train the right candidate who is motivated, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and eager to learn a specialized segment of the electrical distribution industry.
The Inside Sales – Edge Group position is responsible for supporting customers, sales representatives, and branch personnel by preparing quotations, processing orders, coordinating lighting projects, and providing lighting product recommendations. This role ensures projects are accurately quoted, properly managed, and completed on schedule while maintaining a high level of customer service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
Provide professional and timely support to customers, outside sales representatives, and branch personnel regarding lighting products, pricing, availability, and project requirementsPrepare, review, and process lighting quotations based on customer requests, specifications, and project requirementsAccurately enter and manage customer orders, ensuring correct products, pricing, quantities, and delivery informationCoordinate lighting projects from initial quotation through procurement, material delivery, and project completionAssist with interior and exterior lighting layouts using AGi32 lighting design software (training provided)Recommend lighting fixtures, controls, and energy-efficient solutions based on application requirements and customer needsCommunicate with customers, manufacturers, vendors, and sales representatives regarding pricing, lead times, product availability, and technical informationMonitor open orders, project releases, and backorders to ensure materials are delivered accurately and on scheduleAssist with resolving order discrepancies, product issues, returns, and customer concernsSupport outside sales representatives and branch personnel with lighting opportunities, project coordination, and product recommendationsDevelop and maintain knowledge of commercial and industrial LED lighting products, controls, and industry developmentsAssist customers with understanding available energy-efficiency and utility rebate programsWork closely with other members of The Edge Group to maintain efficient operations and excellent customer serviceRequirements:High school diploma or equivalentStrong customer service and communication skillsExcellent attention to detail and organizational abilitiesAbility to manage multiple quotations, orders, and projects simultaneouslyStrong problem-solving and time management skillsComfortable working with computers and learning new software systemsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCommitment to providing exceptional customer serviceWillingness to learn commercial and industrial lighting products, applications, and lighting design principlesDependability, professionalism, and a positive attitudePreferred:Previous customer service, inside sales, quotation, or order processing experienceExperience in the electrical, lighting, construction, or distribution industryKnowledge of commercial and industrial lighting products and controlsExperience coordinating projects or managing customer accountsFamiliarity with AGi32 lighting design softwareUnderstanding of energy-efficient lighting solutions and utility rebate programsMust submit to a background check and drug testingScott Electric offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:401(k)401(k) matchingHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insurancePaid time offReferral programEmployee assistance programEmployee discountFlexible spending accountTuition reimbursementPaid holidaysEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
