Description Position Front Desk Receptionist Responsible to Customer Service Supervisor Purpose of Position The staff serves as the face of Elaine's Pet Resorts, demonstrating to the customer and their pets the high level of care and expertise prevalent throughout the company. The Front Desk staff communicates with all departments to support an efficient and attentive environment for staff, customers and pets. Pay Range $17
- $17.50 per hour Essential Functions Develop and sustain a strong relationship with the customers and the resort by interacting with people in an upbeat, competent, professional manner; Complete various tasks prior to opening for business each morning and securely closing the lobby in the evening; Check pets in and out for services, following established procedures; Preparing invoices and collecting payments; Make daycare and bathing appointments for existing clients; Document changes to a pet's care or condition so the Owner can be accurately informed, based on reports from kennel staff about the pet's care and well-being; Communicate with customers by mail and email; condolence cards, thank you cards, lost and found, vaccination calls, etc.; Direct customer's inquiries to the correct place: call center for reservations, etc.; Prepare paperwork for pets arriving/departing the following day; Keep apprised of changes made to pet care policies and pricing as needed; Communicate policies and information to customers upon request in a knowledgeable and friendly manner; Check email consistently throughout the day, following up with clients in a timely manner; Distribute new client/tour gifts as appropriate; Conduct tours for customers as needed; Maintain front desk and the lobby so it is welcoming and clean; Communicate with kennel staff members regarding pet issues and take appropriate steps necessary to document, evaluate, and respond to the situation; Position Requirements Qualifications Have a High School Diploma; Understand and provide exceptional customer service; A natural comfort around dogs and cats; having any pet allergies under control Ability to read and understand written instructions/labels Be able to lift 50 pounds (dog food, animals); Be capable of bending, stooping and walking up to 8 hours a day; Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled; Ability to work at both of our locations as needed; Ability to get to work on time with reliable transportation; Have clerical experience including computer skills and multi-line phone experience; Proficiency in Spanish is helpful but not required; Expectations Perform job duties with professionalism, respect for co-workers and pets, and knowledge while promoting the culture and values of Elaine's Pet Resorts; Be dependable, fulfill commitments, follow through; Be professional, willing to separate personal from company interests; Strong attention to detail and time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure; Value change and work in a fast paced environment; Desire to work in a cohesive team environment; Strong written and verbal communication skills and sound documentation techniques; Ask questions and learn; be able to and be willing to teach others what they know; Ability to take direction effectively and value constructive feedback; Be welcoming, inviting and informative to clients; Elaine's Pet Resorts reserves the right to change job responsibilities, transfer job positions or assign additional job duties at any time.
