Verify quantities, labeling, certifications, and dimensional attributes using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other standard measurement tools.
Clearly document inspection results, flag non-conforming materials, and route them to the appropriate hold location for disposition.
Communicate findings and recurring supplier concerns to the Quality & Manufacturing Engineer for follow-up with Purchasing and Supply Chain.
In-Process Inspection
Perform scheduled and random in-process checks on production lines across the Hoyt facility to confirm product meets AGS and customer requirements.
Partner with operators, Production Area Leads, and Supervisors to catch issues early, contain non-conforming product, and keep lines running within spec.

Record inspection results clearly and accurately in the appropriate logs, inspection sheets, and MAGI (AGS’s ERP system).
Keep gauges and measurement tools organized, in good condition, and submitted for calibration on schedule.
Help maintain current inspection instructions, work aids, and quality documentation at the point of use.
Pull together inspection data and trends when asked, in support of problem-solving and improvement work.
Learn AGS products, processes, and quality systems with the intent of taking on broader responsibility over time.
Participate in root cause investigations, 5-Why conversations, and corrective action follow-up alongside the Quality & Manufacturing Engineer.
Support time studies, process observations, and standardized work updates as skills develop.
Contribute ideas to Lean, 6S, scrap reduction, and other continuous improvement activities on the floor.
Build toward a career path that includes engineering support, process improvement, and quality systems ownership.
Share what you learn and support the development of others on the floor.
Promote a culture of open communication, continuous learning, and shared responsibility for quality.
Participate in team building, training, and company-wide initiatives that strengthen engagement and performance.
Model AGS values in day-to-day interactions and decision-making.

What Success Looks Like
Incoming and in-process inspections are completed on time, documented clearly, and trusted by Production and Supply Chain.
Non-conforming materials and parts are caught early, contained properly, and routed for disposition without disrupting the line.
Gauges, measurement tools, and inspection records stay organized, current, and audit-ready.
You are visibly present on the floor, approachable, and known as someone who takes ownership instead of handing problems off.
Over time, you take on broader work in time studies, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects alongside the Quality & Manufacturing Engineer.
Your growth as a technician, and eventually as a developing engineer, strengthens AGS’s overall quality and manufacturing capability.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical coursework in quality, manufacturing, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
