Senior Buyer

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team based out of the Quebec Regional Office in Contrecoeur, Quebec. This position reports to the Procurement Director and works closely with the Quebec Operations team.  This position is responsible for the procurement of services, sourcing materials, and issuing purchase orders for both CapEx and OpEx while driving the Total Cost of Ownership and minimizing risk. Additionally, the Senior Buyer will be required to support all procurement activities, including negotiations, contract development and supply chain initiatives.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Negotiate and purchase assigned commodities, including planning and organizing all tasks

Assess and recommend procurement options based on business unit requirements.

Facilitate the competitive procurement process and contract negotiations, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance requirements.

Ensure effective engagement, collaboration, and cooperation with internal business clients, suppliers and vendor community.

Work with key stakeholders for new project initiation and implementation.

Participate in supplier quality and performance activities.

Consult and communicate with all levels of management and staff regarding procurement, its functions, policies, procedures, procurement methods in compliance with policy, and regulatory compliance.

Work with the Strategic Sourcing Managers:to develop and manage suppliers

to implement new procurement projects

to determine exceptions and issues with current agreements

Remain current on economic, industrial and other trends that affect market and prices.

Develop the summary analysis for each RFQ/bid package.

Sourcing support including but not limited to:Investigating potential suppliers

Identify potential cost saving projects

Conduct market and spend analysis

Create and revise purchase orders; Resolve invoice and payment issues related to purchase orders; Assist in resolving incomplete or incorrect shipments with the suppliers; Respond to supplier and business partner inquiries.
