Overview:
The Staff Accountant II will be responsible for various accounting tasks and ensuring the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions for the Bank and its subsidiaries.  This position will contribute to the overall success and efficiency of financial operations.

Responsibilities:
Complete assigned responsibilities as part of monthly, quarterly and year end accounting close.

Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet General Ledger accounts, including researching outages and using judgement to resolve.

Prepare journal entries and analyze variances using professional acumen.

Prepare and file bank regulatory reports, such as FR2900 and FR2644.

Act as the subject matter expert on accounting topics, such as prepaids, fixed assets, personal property tax, real estate tax, sales/use tax, lease accounting, and perform accounting tasks related to these items.

Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with Travel & Expense (T&E) policies and procedures.

Prepare management reporting. such as Regulation O and tracking fringe benefits for executives.

Provide analytical research and support for other functions within the Finance department.

Utilize accounting software effectively and identify efficient ways to leverage software to complete tasks.

Collaborate with management in researching, reviewing, and implementing internal policies and procedures.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Gather and review audit documentation, ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Interact with internal and external clients while providing extraordinary service.

Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.

Represent the Bank and Accounting team in a highly professional manner.

Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work.

Maintain confidentiality; adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

Reliable and predictable attendance; both on-site and remote work.

Qualifications:
Two or more years as a successful accountant, public accounting or banking experience is preferred.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated experience with effective planning and priority setting; ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

Proficient technical skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Solid understanding of finance, accounting, information systems and related disciplines.

Experience with PeopleSoft and/or Certify is preferred.
