Overview:

 

Job Title: Residential Mentor

Compensation: $19.25-$22/hour

 

$1000 hiring bonus 

 

Schedule:

Full-time: 3 10-hour shifts per week: Sun-Tues or Wed-Fri, daytime or swing shiftsFlexibility to schedule additional shifts to achieve 40 hours/week

Rotating monthly 12-hour Saturday shift

Part-time: Saturday & Sunday or On Call shifts

Opportunity for Advancement:

Incremental raises of $0.50 and $1.00 at 6 and 12 months respectively

is seeking dedicated, compassionate Residential Mentors to join our exceptional team. As a Residential Mentor, you will provide supervision, guidance and support to our preteen clients, fostering a safe and structured environment conducive to their emotional and behavioral growth. Our approach integrates experiential activities, animal interaction, academic support, and interpersonal skill-building to help youth and their families achieve holistic wellness.

 

About Us: Located in Bend, Oregon, our residential treatment facility caters to teens aged 10-14 struggling with behavioral health issues. Our family-style residence promotes community engagement and interpersonal development, facilitating a supportive environment for healing and growth.

 

Responsibilities

Ensure the safety and emotional well-being of clients through consistent monitoring and documentation

Uphold program structure by enforcing boundaries and maintaining a supportive environment

Facilitate clear communication and documentation to ensure seamless team coordination

Respond to client crisis by implementing de-escalation skills and training

Provide academic assistance to students as they fulfill schooling requirements

Support kitchen by heating/serving meals on occasion

Engage in extracurricular activities such as arts, crafts, sports, and outdoor pursuits

Contribute to residential upkeep, animal care, or administrative tasks as required

Participate in extracurricular activities with youth such as arts, crafts, sports, outdoor activities, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum age of 21

Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

High school diploma or equivalent

Current First Aid and CPR certifications

Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients

Proficiency in de-escalating emotionally or behaviorally dysregulated individuals

Effective planning, implementation, and adaptability

Punctuality, organization, and reliability

Preferred Experience:

1 year of experience in a residential or direct care role with youth
