Responsibilities:
 

What You'll Do:

 

As a Unit Secretary, you will maintain an organized environment on the nursing unit. Your role is instrumental to ensuring the delivery of quality care, fostering a positive work environment, ensuring the health, comfort, and overall well-being of our residents.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

Greeting and assisting visitors, residents, and staff in person and over the phone

Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date resident records and charts

Scheduling appointments and arranging meetings Assisting with data entry, filing, and maintaining inventory of office supplies

Collaborating with the healthcare team to facilitate smooth operations

Provide administrative support to the nursing staff

Qualifications:
 

What You'll Bring:

 

Qualifications of a Unit Secretary:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Additional certification or coursework in office administration is a plus

May require experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and in specific functional areas in a long-term care setting

Compassionate and empathetic nature Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in office software and basic computer skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare setting

Exceptional attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a team environment
