Procurement Specialist I

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking an Procurement Specialist I to join our Anniston, AL team. This position serves as the focal point for GD-OTS outgoing procurement.

Major Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for procurement of direct raw materials, parts, supplies and services.
Using established policy with a minimum of supervision, carries out broad assignments usually involving the purchase of important and critical items requiring extensive or specialized knowledge and experience.
Develops sources of supply where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.
Evaluates vendor/supplier reliability.
Supports the concurrent engineering process by acting as an interface between suppliers, manufacturing engineering, and design engineering.
Supports design-to-cost goals by providing engineering with cost data before designs are released for procurement.
Solicits bids and quotations.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience
2-5 years in federal procurement environment preferred
