Responsibilities:
Plans and coordinates programs that are educational, recreational, cultural, social, and or multigenerational in nature
Designs, develops and distributes monthly and weekly calendars, promotional flyers and other forms of communication for activities and events within CCB using Touchtown as the main platform
Develop and maintains partnerships with the community to enhance cultural and educational programming within CCB
Develop and supervises volunteer program
Coordinate and executes all audio/visual duties related to all programs
Manages the bus program and the transportation specialist position(s)
Keeps track and stays within the Community Life budget
Conducts annual Community Life Survey and maintains flexibility to alter plans when activites are not engaging the participants' interest and/or culture
Works intra- and inter-departmentally to promote special events
Encourages resident involvement by holding program meetings open to all resisdents to both evaulate current programs and plan future programs in collaboration with the residents across Brookline
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount of commensurate experience
Experience in implementing programs intended to fulfill basic psychological, intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs while promoting self-esteem in a caring, nurturing environment.
Must be creative, energetic, patient, sensitive and professional
Compassion for and desire to work with a senior population
Excellent organization and interpersonal skills. Must have ability to innovate, think strategically and conceptually, manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle even difficult situations
Must be a professional, proactive, collaborative, conscientious, and results-oriented individual. Must have an optimistic and positive demeanor, excellent oral and written communication skills, good intuition and sound judgement. Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change.
Computer literacy; experience with Windows, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Ability to work some weekends and evenings as necessary.
