Responsibilities:
Their role is critical in managing the financial health of the wound healing center (WHC) and facilitating efficient patient billing processes. They ensure compliance with regulations, accurate records, and optimize revenue collection. They are also responsible for managing surgeries for the vascular chief of surgery and collaborating with the RMSO to streamline the billing processes and assure maximum collections are achieved.
Review patient records to accurately capture billing information related to wound care services, procedures, and supplies.
Responsible for communicating with account billing supervisor and coders on all wound healing accounts.
Resolves billing issues in a timely manner.
Responsible for communicating billing concerns to medical operations manager and escalating issues when necessary.
Distributes weekly updates on the billing status with the medical operations team.
Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance billing knowledge and skills.
Continually reviews and streamlines processes to ensure efficiency.
Report accurate records of billing activities.
Manage skin subs approval tracker: Spreadsheet log with all Insurance approvals on skin substitutes for all physicians.
Manage wound healing services rendered: Detail report with all the daily services rendered by all physician and nurses.
Assures completion of letters of medical necessity for skin subs.
Oversees tracker on the status of professional billing: Surgeries, Visits, Progress Notes
HBO financials: Spreadsheet to show Variance of forecasting vs. Budgets.
Able to manage patient flow on the unit in emergency situations.
Performs other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills. Dependable and has the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience in an outpatient healthcare setting.
