Overview:
TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building in multiple market sectors across the US and around the world. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. TRC is seeking a Project Assistant I/Call Center Service Representative to support operations in New York State.

 

In this role, you help New York residents understand the intricacies of the Single Family Homes Residential Programs offered by NYSERDA, to include, but not limited to: Empower Plus, Comfort Homes, and the Residential Audit Program. 

 

Your active listening skills enable you to understand customer needs and provide accurate, timely guidance on program offerings and incentives.  You log all activities in the CRM as they occur allowing for relevant record keeping in accordance with program directives.  You use your previous experience in Energy Efficiency to rapidly gain a working knowledge of the programs and drive each call to a positive outcome.

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain understanding of program objectives, incentives, processes, and procedures.

Maintain respectful and open communications with internal and external customers.

Create and maintain accurate records, including details of all communications with program participants and information seekers.

Answer incoming calls, emails, and make outbound calls to utility customers that have expressed interest in participating in energy efficiency program.

Is an effective communicator; both written and verbal.

Controls the pace and flow of inquiries/requests and manages response time effectively.

Handles inquiries and requests in a courteous and professional manner.

Listens to and empathizes with customers and acknowledges their challenges/concerns.

Ability to follow policies and procedures as outlined.

Quickly gathers information to determine a customer's needs, applies problem-solving skills, and resolves the inquiry/request effectively.

Uses the web, scheduling software and other available tools to search/retrieve information needed to address the inquiry and schedule appointments.

Records information from the inquiry in an accurate and efficient manner, tracks requests until closure, and interacts with management and subject matter experts as necessary.

Takes direction within a team setting and completes team-related work promptly. Supports customers using proprietary customer relationship management (CRM) methodologies.

Additional assignments to include; data entry, and incentive application review and processing.

Qualifications:
1+ years' experience in a call center environment.

2+ years' experience in the energy efficiency/ clean energy space.

Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Previous experience with CRM and scheduling software.

Ability to understand, interpret, and explain multiple programs.

Able to listen and document information received.

Ability to clearly communicate in written and oral English.

PC, keyboard, and typing/data entry proficiency.

Exhibits professional demeanor and top-notch customer service skills.

Ability to multitask and work independently as well as effectively within a team environment.

Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work with minimal direction.

Flexible, attentive and responsive to changing operational procedures and customer needs.

Possesses strong organization skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Superior troubleshooting abilities.

Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and use creative problem-solving skills to make recommendations.

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
