Department Overview:
The Student Success Coach helps students develop skills, behaviors and habits that contribute to success in college. These includes academic and career goal setting, learning strategies, time management and organization, self-regulation, and self-efficacy.  

 

This Student Success Coach will work alongside our pre-program students, guiding them towards success in gaining admission to their desired academic programs. The coach will track students’ academic engagement, be a conduit for resources across campus, and be an advocate for their academic future.  Additionally, this coach will likely have expertise in data management, retention/progression tracking, and Student Information System (SIS) administration to join our team. This position will play a crucial role in supporting the success of pre-program students by leveraging data insights and utilizing our SIS effectively. 

 

Performs other duties as assigned. 

Responsibilities & Requirements:
Build strong relationships with pre-program students to understand their academic aspirations and challenges. 

Conduct individualized coaching sessions with pre-program students to assess their readiness for admission to their desired programs and develop personalized action plans. 

Manage and maintain accurate records of pre-program student data in the Student Information System, including demographic information, academic progress, and engagement metrics. 

Utilize data analysis techniques to track and monitor retention rates, academic performance, and progression of pre-program students over time. 

Identify trends and patterns in pre-program student data to inform decision-making and enhance student support initiatives. 

Collaborate with other student success coaches, faculty members, and other stakeholders to develop intervention strategies and support plans for at-risk pre-program students. 

Serve as the primary Retention module manager for the Student Information System, including data entry, system configuration, and user training. 

Develop and generate reports and dashboards within the SIS to provide insights into pre-program student outcomes and program effectiveness. 

Train and support staff members on best practices for utilizing the SIS to track pre-program student data and enhance student success efforts. 

Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in data management, SIS administration, and student success analytics.
