Overview:
Element has an opportunity for an Associate Chemist for testing, sample preparation and collection of samples and preparation of test reports.

 

Responsibilities:
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of inorganic metals by spectroscopy analysis per SOP and reporting
results in LIMS
• Preparing of samples, standard solution, and ensure standardization of the solution.
• Ensures lab safety and proper protective equipment (PPE) usage
• Handling, disposing, and storage of all chemicals as per the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
• Manage calibration of glass wares and general maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of equipment
• Interaction with clients during witnessed testing (including audits) and answering customer queries
• Coordinating with team members to complete work in a high-volume production environment
• Ensuring compliance to all Element Material Technology quality standards
• Assist in other activities from time to time that may be requested by the department manager/supervisor achieve
Element Material Technology annual targets and budget

Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field with at least 1 year experience in similar role
• Knowledge using ICP-OES and GFAA instrumentations
• Ability to work with team under pressure and flexible to work extended hours when necessary
• Strong attention to details, work ethic, and positive attitude
• Good English communication skills: reading, writing, speaking
• Good problem solving and math skills
• Knowledge and experience of safe operation of testing equipment and operating in a chemistry laboratory
environment
