Campus Overview:
Kettering Health Main Campus

Kettering Health Main Campus, formerly Kettering Medical Center, is the flagship hospital of Kettering Health and has been serving Kettering, Ohio and the Greater Dayton area since 1964.

The facility includes the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Heart Hospital, maternity service with a level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and level II Emergency Care.

In 2020, KH Main Campus received an “A” from the Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States.

Received 4 Star Baby-Friendly Hospital status by the Ohio Hospital Association.

Awarded as one of the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals by IBM Watson Health in 2020.

Kettering received the Outstanding Patient Experience Award by Healthgrades (2017-2019).

Accredited by the American College of Emergency Physicians as a Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department.

Responsibilities & Requirements:
Job Summary:Biomedical equipment technician duties include inspection, calibration, installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of clinical equipment.

Works with equipment users for the best resolution of issues and communicates equipment status.

Maintains a clean and organized work area. Keeps complete records of work done.

Assists the manager with equipment replacement recommendations. Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:Associate or Bachelors degree in biomedical electronics or related, or a combination of relevant training and experience.

Certification by the International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Equipment Technicians (preferred).

Skills/Other

Experience in troubleshooting and repair of a wide variety of biomedical equipment.

Knowledge of electrical safety and the applicable codes and standards that related to biomed¬ical equipment and environments.

Demonstrable skill in applying electric/electronic circuit theory and operating principles to effectively diagnose biomedical equipment malfunctions.

Demonstrable skill in properly using advanced electronic test equipment.

Knowledge of the theories of operation, the underlying physio¬logic principles, and the practical, safe clinical application of biomedical equipment.

Knowledge of basic computer theory and skill in effectively using computer systems and applications.

Skill in the use of tools and materials involved in the repair and maintenance of biomedical and/or data equipment.

Good communication skills, both oral and written.
