Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. or PharmD. from an accredited college of Pharmacy

Working knowledge of drug therapy and disease state management

Licensure/Registration/Certification: 

Current licensure (or licensure eligibility) by the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy 

Parenteral licensure may be required if preparing sterile pharmaceutical compounded products

Permanent licenses will be required within two months of entry into the job

Desired Qualifications:

ASHP accredited residency or fellowship

Working knowledge of applicable pharmacy operations and procedures

Working knowledge of practice in specialty care areas

Board Certification

Parenteral licensure

Preceptorship

  

 

Responsibilities:
Ensures appropriate, safe, effective & efficient use of medications through the application of pharmaceutical principles in order to provide optimal patient outcomes.  Consults with physicians and professional staff, monitors and evaluates drug therapy and suggests alternate therapy as appropriate.  Promotes understanding of drug therapy and disease state management by providing education to health care professionals, patients and the public.
