The Audiologist is responsible for providing diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services to both inpatients and outpatients including assessment, treatment planning and implementation with related documentation. They are a resource to the interdisciplinary team, applying skills of the profession to improve outcomes of persons served. Actions are team oriented to successfully provide quality care and a high level of satisfaction for persons served through evidence-based practice. Patients of all ages from newborn to geriatric are part of the practice.

Responsibilities:
· Receives referrals, screens and/or evaluates to determine the need for patient intervention.

· Interprets evaluation findings and develops an appropriate treatment plan, including goal setting.

· Carries out treatment plan and coordinates with patient, family, significant others and care team. Monitors patient’s response and modifies treatment to achieve goals.

· Provides input to improve patient or employee safety. Follows all policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines related to safety.

· Develops appropriate home or community programming to maintain and enhance the performance of the patients in their own environment.

· Documents the results of patient’s assessment, treatment, follow-up and termination of services.

· Oversees Audiology students as assigned. According to licensure laws, is professionally accountable for overseeing delegated clinical skills of the Communication Assistants.

· Reviews and analyzes quality appropriateness of the Audiology services delivered. Reports associated problems to supervisor as indicated.

· Understands and complies with billing and reimbursement procedures according to governmental and third-party requirements. Follows through with accurate and ethical billing practices.

· Reports any questions or concerns regarding compliance immediately to the attention of department or organization/hospital administrative staff.
