The Director of Enterprise Applications holds a critical leadership position within the IT department, tasked with overseeing all clinical and non-clinical applications. This role is responsible for the effective deployment, integration, and management of application systems that support diverse organizational functions. The Director leads the strategy, development, and optimization of application solutions, meeting the evolving needs of the organization and boosting both patient care and business operations.

Overview of Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all clinical and non-clinical application systems, leading strategy, development, optimization.
2. Manage teams for business applications, ambulatory/diagnostics, revenue cycle, ancillary services/enterprise imaging applications.
3. Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Epic
4. Advances participation in benchmarking programs such as the Epic Honor Roll and Gold Stars.
5. Developing and executing a strategic roadmap for all applications, aligned with the CIO's vision and enterprise-wide application strategy.
6. Leading and directing application support teams, driving continual system optimization.
7. Translating clinical and business needs into actionable IT deliverables.
8. Managing budgets, overseeing team labor and productivity, and reviewing contracts and policies.
9. Collaborating with operational leaders to ensure strategic alignment and operational transparency.
10. Create and deliver IT presentations as requested by CIO
11. Provide operational and strategic initiative progress reports
12. Responsible for managing ICAG, prioritization and endorsement from the committee, and taking initiatives forward for development, Leverage Agile Scrum methodologies
13. Coordinating the planning, installation, training, implementation, and support of new Epic modules.
14. Developing, implementing, and maintaining Epic applications and EMR strategic plans.
15. Planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all applications development projects.
16. Developing, implementing, updating, and maintaining applications development policies and procedures.
17. Creating and delivering Information Services presentations as requested by the CIO.
18. Providing timely progress reports on operational and strategic initiatives.

Education/Experience:
Education Required/Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant experience required.

Master’s degree in business administration or healthcare administration preferred.

 

Experience Required/Preferred:

At least seven (7) years of experience managing an IT department, preferrable in a healthcare setting required.

Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing cross functional teams

Substantial experience leading, directing and controlling a complex, highly technical operation or organization.

Knowledge of business concepts, and an understanding of the links between major business processes, products, systems, and networks.

Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging technologies and the ability to apply those technologies to business needs.

A track record of working collaboratively and productively with business partners.

 

Licensure and Certification

Epic Certification

 

Qualifications

Able to manage and motivate people.

Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.

Solid financial acumen with considerable knowledge of business processes, management, budgeting, and revenue cycle operations.

Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), network, etc.

Ability to communicate, understand and interact with physicians, clinicians, external regulatory agencies, and other Reid personnel in person and through telephone and e-mail.

Experience in controlling information technology budget.

Experienced in creating and implementing IT policies and systems that meet objectives.

Excellent working relationship with physician, peers, administration, end users, and vendors.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diligence.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
