Overview:
This position coordinates material flow in the plant by verifying materials inventory balances at POU (point of use), stage, &
warehouse locations are sufficient to meet material planning targets. Facilitates inventory move prioritization with forklift
drivers to support material targets at all locations of the plant. Data input of part numbers and data research skills to find
and update status of parts in JDE, RFGen, and other plant Supply Chain planning tools. Able to read blueprints and
production schedules. Able to drive a forklift to move bundles & crates around for ease of staging. Communicates material
shortages immediately to cross-functional team. Facilitates the NCM process daily.

Responsibilities:
• Physically counts purchased and fabricated parts on a daily basis.
• Investigates issues with material and inventory variances. Recommends possible solutions, resolutions, etc.
• Posts and maintains material planning & NCM files.
• Prioritizes inventory moves to effectively support uninterrupted production.
• Lead the day-to-day direction of Material Handlers delivering material to the production lines

 

Job Requirements:

• Employee must be able to safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment including forklift.
• Employee must be able to perform and remember how to perform multiple tasks from day to day.
• Employee must be able to perform the physical requirements listed in that section of this job description.
• Employee must pose leadership capabilities including strong emotional intelligence and streamlined communication.
• Employee must look for potential cost savings in the work process, help keep scrap and waste to a minimum and be
efficient in use of all supplies.
• Time standard is dependent on the process being performed, customer specification, volume and location.
• The employee must perform the assigned tasks in a manner in which they meet or exceed the required production
level.
• The quantity of units, parts, assemblies and/ or installations that is expected will vary with the process being
performed, customer specification, volume and location.
• Accurately conduct physical inventory counts, communicate material quality and quantity deficiency, and maintain
daily inventory adjustments and transactions in JDE, RFGen.

Qualifications:
• Education: GED or high school diploma is preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in heavy assembly work is preferred.
• Must be able to perform work with little supervision.
• May be asked to assist in the training of new employees.
• Forklift certification required.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure - whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Must possess computer/data entry skills.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and other measuring tools.
• Ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following supervisor’s instruction.
• Aptitude to learn and retain new information.
• Ability to follow instructions, given either verbally or in writing.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
