RN Infusion

We are seeking a caring and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Oncology team. As an RN Infusion Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our patients undergoing cancer treatment. Your main duties will include administering chemotherapy and other infusion therapies, monitoring patient responses, and offering emotional support to patients and their families. 

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will administer chemotherapy, blood products, and other infusion therapies while monitoring patients for side effects and responding to any adverse reactions. You will educate patients and families about treatment plans and what to expect, maintain accurate patient records and documentation, and collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Additionally, you will provide compassionate support and reassurance to patients and their loved ones.

 

This position is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with no weekends or holidays. After training, there is a late-night rotation for finishing out infusions after 5 PM if needed, and pump call duties, where you'll assist patients with infusion pumps via cell phone at home. The pump call is paid at an extra daily rate.  

Qualifications:
Current RN license in Illinois.

Previous experience in oncology or infusion therapy preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred.

Completion of the Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course within 6 months of hire, with successful renewal every 2 years.

Completion of the Oncology Certified Nurse Examination within 2 years of hire, with successful renewal every 4 years.
