Pay: Starting at $22/HR based on experience.

Responsibilities:
Organizes, supervises and, when necessary, prepares the various billings for the organization as well as collections.

Adjusts processes and procedures where necessary to streamline the billing processes both within the department and in other areas such as admissions, intake, etc.

Converts all billing to in-house including Medicare and Medicaid and third-party payers.

Understands all of payer contracts and billing and coding guidelines to minimize the risk of the collectability of the outstanding accounts receivables.

Assists CFO with payer contracting and maintains responsibility for distribution to practices of which payers each provider can see.

Completes all payment posting and provides daily reconciliation of Community Behavioral Health (CBH) bank account to accounting for the Controller.

Coordinates with Insurance Specialist and 3rd party vendor to make sure all payer/provider credentialing is complete.

Assists with establishing processes for the invoicing and collection of all services including co-pays.

Reviews monthly outstanding accounts receivable to determine any possible bad debt

Investigates discrepancies/payments to expected results based on payer contracts.

Assists with training and mentoring new billing staff on all department policies and procedures.

Works with providers as needed to ensure billing is accurate and provided documentation supports the billing.

All other duties as assigned and/or appropriate to the position.

Qualifications:
Education:  High school diploma or equivalent

Licenses or other required certifications:  None

Experience:  Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a corporate accounts receivable/ management billing position with increased responsibility.  Prefer experience in healthcare. Minimum of three (3) year’s experience in medical coding and billing.

Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities:

Expert level MS Excel skills

Possesses general accounting and business acumen

Comfortable working within financial systems such as, Carelogic, EPIC, or another Electronic Medical Record (EMR) billing system as well as having the ability to produce accurate reporting.

Ability to interact with all levels of management and clients for accurate and understandable communication

Willingness to work overtime when necessary
