Overview:
Pay range for this position is $36.08 - $53.56/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Informatics Scholar functions as an analyst, designer, and developer, instructor, evaluator, consultant, and facilitator in a broad range of activities that lead to development and implementation of program, instruction, and practice with emphasis on informatics, the electronic medical record, technology, and professional development. The Clinical Informatics Scholar is responsible for participating in the planning, development, training, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of assigned clinical information systems. Functions as a liaison for ongoing support for assigned and additional clinical informatics systems as needed. Responsible for facilitating communication from the clinical end users across the patient care departments while working collaboratively and directly with vendors and technical experts. Works in collaboration with facility leadership and Professional Development Department to develop annual education plan and competencies. Acts as a catalyst for change and adapts to change in a positive and professional manner. Exemplifies and role models the Mission, Vision, and Values of OSF HealthCare.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors

Specific Majors: Master's degree in nursing must be completed within four years of obtaining this position.

Licenses/Certifications RN-Registered Nurse Experience: 1 year work experience in a healthcare setting

Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: MSN

License/Certifications: American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification or other Nationally recognized nursing certification Credentialed in an Epic Systems Corporation Application Member of the Super User Informatics Team (SUIT) program or equivalent

Other requirements/information: Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to coordinate nursing information systems and maintenance. This requires the ability to research information, assimilate knowledge, and coordinate change Possess an excellent understanding of workflows and terminology along with a deep understanding of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and related clinical informatics system capabilities Strong analytical ability necessary to identify and assess the learning needs of all staff and develop education programs that meet their needs Demonstrated knowledge of current education technologies with experience designing and implementing technology rich education with a proficiency in relevant software applications and the ability to teach and support the instruction of informatics programs
