Overview:
Provides professional nursing care by utilizing the nursing process to care for patient within an assigned unit.

 

Coordinates care planning with other disciplines

 

 

Responsibilities:
Maintains accountability to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Coordinator.

Consistently greets customers in a friendly manner.

Maintains professional telephone etiquette and identifies department and self.

Completes the required admissions forms and maintains related documents.

Properly orients new participants into the program.

Accurately develops the plan of care.

Supervises exercise sessions, monitoring patients response.

Accurately records blood pressure and pulse in response to activity.

Correctly teaches patient proper self-monitoring.

Charts and maintains records of initial assessment and progress.

Correctly teaches patients and /or family members proper exercise technique.

Charts and maintains records of initial assessment and progress.

Leads patient education sessions in areas of nursing expertise.

Reports any significant adverse patient response to the supervising physician.

Initiates immediate ACLS measures for any sentinel event.

Maintains inventory of supplies and orders replacements.

Monitors emergency equipment for proper function.

Teaches and demonstrates proper body mechanics.

Qualifications:
 

Required

Preferred

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree as a Registered Nurse

BSN

Experience:

Minimum 3 year cardiac care or equivalent

Previous Cardiac Rehab

Telemetry experience

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:

BLS certification

ACLS certification

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Computer proficiency

12 lead ekg course within past 2 years
