Casting Salvager

Are you looking for a long-term career? If so, please apply here at Tyler Pipe for the Casting Salvager position. This position helps keep our foundry clean and organized by moving damaged pipe to the proper rework stations by use of fork truck.

Responsibilities:
Gathers damaged pipe from several locations throughout the North Plant with use of fork truck.  

Determines condition of pipe and needed salvage work such as cutting, cleaning, and grinding, re-dipping, or re-melting.   

Responsible for moving segregated castings to proper rework stations and for sorting, cleaning, painting, stenciling, and bundling returns from customers or yard before returning pipe back to stock.  

Scrap product will be marked and disposed of in appropriate scarp boxes or bins and scrap recorded in the Daily Scrap Report.  

Responsible for setting saw to cut various diameters and lengths of pipe within specifications and for adjusting the feed rate of the saw depending upon diameter of pipe being cut.  

Responsible for re-stenciling pipe using hand-held ink jet printer as needed for orders, will download the print program from the computer to the hand-held printer based upon the work schedule, and when completed will flush the printer to remove all ink.  

Reworks bundles of pipe by replacing broken or scrap pipe or re-banding if needed.  

Makes out daily reports pertaining to Forklift-Shift Inspection Report, Overhead Hoist and Below the Hook Devices Daily Pre-Shift Inspection, and Daily Rework Shop Production Sheet.  

At the end of the shift, completed pipe bundles will be loaded on flatbed trailer, strapped down, and the Packing List for Finished Products completed.  

Responsible for computer functions pertaining to Dynamics AX Anywhere, which includes accessing the system to print product tags for inventory. Also uses a system to print packing slips for rework & returns.  

Conducts necessary air testing in the Re-Work Shop of various pipe sizes produced on Molding Units throughout the North Plant.  

Responsible for assisting in various duties on pipe machine, including the bundling area, and as needed during down periods in salvage area; including plugging and fitting and occasional light machining of soil castings as needed for orders. 

Keeps work area clean, safe, and in orderly condition. 

Wear the required personal protective equipment and follow safety rules and procedures. 

Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.

Qualifications:
Great attendance and punctuality.

Proper PPE usage at all times.

Can be fork truck certified.

Organized and efficient work history.
