Responsibilities:
The Rail Service Coordinator provides program support to all areas of the state's passenger rail program. The position will assist in creating general awareness and increased ridership on state-sponsored passenger trains. The employee will be responsible for seeking out and engaging partners, building business relationships that will maximize revenue and ridership growth along the Raleigh-Charlotte corridor. This will be done by performing a variety of administrative, clerical, and office support duties, under the guidance of the Rail Services Manager. Duties performed may include preparation of documents and reports, composition of memos and letters, the use of office technology, compiling records, organizing and maintaining files, posting information, greeting, referring, assisting visitors, clients, staff, passenger, and the general public, mail and supply distribution, and photocopying.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Working knowledge of program services, policies and procedures and the ability to demonstrate and apply this knowledge in performance of office support tasks. 

Demonstrated ability to explain and interpret program information to clients/customers and staff. 

Working knowledge of data collection and storage to compile, assimilate, and organize printed and electronic information. 

Demonstrated ability to convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups; ability to adjust language or terminology to meet needs of the recipient(s). 

Demonstrated ability to utilize office equipment and other technology (software and systems) to meet work needs. 

Demonstrated ability to understand issues, identify problems and opportunities to determine the appropriate course of action.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Work is performed in an office setting.  Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse.  Use of a telephone headset will allow for virtual communication with team members through Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to sit for prolonged periods, use hands/fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms, speak, and hear.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
