POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Founded more than 50 years ago, the Rose F. Kennedy Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center has long been at the forefront of research on normal and abnormal brain development. The overarching mission of the Center is to improve the lives of children with intellectual disabilities by fostering basic, translational and clinical research focused on better understanding and treating these conditions (www.einsteinmed.edu/centers/iddrc).

 

Responsibilities

Responsible for working with IDDRC leadership to prepare research grants and T32 fellowship applications to the NIH and other federal agencies;

Responsible for directing grant approvals through the system and subsequent electronic transmissions and manual submissions to grant-awarding agencies;

Works in coordination with IDDRC administrative assistant on:The planning and execution of annual events involving guest speakers

Communicating with IDDRC membership and trainees

Monitors and disseminates information concerning guidelines and regulations for grant applications including eligibility, use of human subjects, animals, changes in forms, etc.;

Responsible for effort reporting through the electronic system to assure accuracy and proper distribution of funds and effort and the training of PIs in the use of the system to certify their individual effort;

Compiles and maintains detailed reports on active and pending grants;

Supervises grant logging system to assure capture of necessary data for faculty salary projections and pending grant information including Montefiore clinical pathologist’s salary inter-charges;

Prepares changes of effort and funding documentation/requests.

Audits monthly ledgers to determine accuracy and monitor spending activities;

Handles expired funding issues;

Assists with Annual IDDRC Newsletters;

Maintain and support internal pilot projects for IDDRC;

This role is pivotal in managing the grants and administrative needs of the IDDRC, as well as organizing impactful annual events that bring awareness to IDDs. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:

A BA/BS in neuroscience, psychology, business administration or another related field is preferred. 

Minimum 3-5 years prior related experience in the pre- and/or post award function.

Experience in grant and contract financial management, and prior related experience in pre- and/or post award function, in a research environment is strongly preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

In-depth knowledge of financial management principles and practices. Demonstrated competence in independent management of a large number of accounts with differing project periods. Demonstrates broad understanding of principles of financial management necessary to ensure the appropriate stewardship of university resources.

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and ability to make independent decisions and effectively communicate decisions and rationale to department management.

Must possess the ability to interact effectively with a large group of diverse individuals. Strong oral and written communication skills required.

Strong organizational abilities required.

Demonstrated ability to balance workload for a number of different projects throughout the year.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and windows-based computer system required.

Proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, or related systems highly recommended.

Adept at learning new software programs.

Minimum Salary Range:
USD $72,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary Range:
USD $80,000.00/Yr.
