Overview:
Sr. Scientific Writer- CONNECT

CONNECT is an international collaborative network of pediatric cancer centers with the objective to improve outcomes for children with newly diagnosed and recurrent/progressive high-risk brain tumors The Operations center for this network is located at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. 

 

CONNECT conducts small, scientifically rational, pilot studies to assess feasibility and early efficacy of incorporating promising new therapies into established frontline therapeutic regimens. CONNECT works alongside phase I consortia and large clinical trial groups to target high-risk pediatric and young adult tumors.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing high-level guidance and support to investigators on protocol writing. This includes writing, editing, reviewing, analyzing, and providing guidance in preparation of concepts, protocols, protocol amendments, protocol consents, coordinating written responses to queries from the IRB, scientific review committees, FDA, Data Safety Monitoring Committee etc. with protocol chairs and CONNECT leadership. 

Responsible for developing materials related to implementation and activation of protocols at our international sites. 

May assist CONNECT investigators and the Operations team with writing, editing, and preparing grants for submission, participate with other members of the Operations team in guiding the database vendor in development of electronic data bases for specific protocols, preparing materials related to implementation and activation of protocols at sites. 

Substantive scientific and technical writing, editing, stylistic and content editing, rewriting, formatting, editing and proofreading study protocol documents, ensuring clarity, persuasiveness, and comprehensive presentation.

Qualifications:
Education Requirement:

 

Bachelor's degree in Sciences or other related field required.

Master's degree preferred.

Two or more years of academic and/or professional experience in scientific writing, clinical research preferred.
