Manager of IT Operations and Cloud Services

Overview:
Location:  Remote (must be based out of US or Canada)

Experience:  3+ years of experience in leadership or managerial role, 3+ years of experience in managing Azure Cloud Services, experience with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL), Experience using Azure CLI (Command Line Interface) (Strongly preferred)

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a technically strong manager to lead our IT Operations/Microsoft Azure Cloud Engineer team (Azure, O365, Sharepoint, systems administration). This role requires an organized leader with hands-on experience and a deep understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud services and IT service management, as well as a track record of successfully managing and mentoring IT operations/support teams. This mission critical team provides systems administration for internal systems, networking, hardware (laptops/tablets) and Azure cloud (provisioning/automating) for internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:
Design and architect Azure solutions, aligning them with organizational goals, projects, and industry best practices.

Manage, support and administer the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance, and security.

Develop roles, permissions, and access for external partners and internal departments based on the role-based access model (RBAC).

Azure monitoring and logging with tools such as Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Azure Security Center for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing the performance, availability, and cost-effectiveness of Azure resources and applications.

Writing scripts in PowerShell, Power Automate and Azure CLI (command line interface), to automate routine tasks, deployment processes, and resource management workflows within the Azure environment.

The daily administration tasks will include application integration activities, responding to failures/alerts, and building a support team to manage day-to-day activities.

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT Operations professionals (Seasoned System Administrators, Network team, and Azure infrastructure) fostering a collaborative, innovative work environment while ensuring timely response and resolution of service issues.

Define team goals and performance metrics to drive excellence in service delivery.

Handling escalated Service Request as necessary

Drive IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)-centric capabilities within our existing ITSM environment, including enhancing Incident, Change, Problem, CMDB, Knowledge, and Asset processes.

Identify, prioritize, escalate, and resolve issues at the enterprise level, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and documented actions.

Remove bottlenecks to enable your team to work independently. Drives team members to proactively identify gaps and opportunities (e.g., services, workflows, tooling) within or between other parts of the organization.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for service quality and user satisfaction.

Own and maintain a strong control environment to manage operational risks and meet regulatory requirements.

 Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to address security incidents and vulnerabilities.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, a related field or equivalent work experience.

3+ years of experience in leadership or managerial role. 

3 +years of experience in managing Azure Cloud Services (supporting, building and administering Azure architecture).

Proven experience with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and Microsoft Azure cloud services.

Experience using Azure CLI (Command Line Interface) (Strongly preferred)

Knowledge of IT security and compliance best practices.

Familiarity with IT service management tools and technologies.

Deep understanding of networking concepts
