Overview:
Element has an opportunity for a Failure Analyst who will be primarily responsible for the failure analysis inspections, operations, reporting and consultation services.

 

Responsibilities:
Supervision, conducting and reporting of failure analysis

Presentation of technical work in different platforms, both written and oral in a confident manner

Exhibit pragmatic and innovative with respect to both conduct of the investigation and providing solutions for the client

Review technical documents and to construct a suitable scope of work

Estimate the work effort required and to help in the commercial breakdown of the work

Supervise routine metallographic examinations and review / compose standard reporting comments

Skills / Qualifications:
Experience and recognized qualification in Metallurgy

Experience in conducting and reporting of root cause failure analysis

Experience in working with SEM / EDS (Scanning Electron Microscopy / Energy Dispersive analysis)

Experience working in an ISI 17025 laboratory environment

Proven supervisory skills

Strong communication / presentation skills

The ability to assess and respond to client requirements in an appropriate manner

Ability to operate and function within a team, drawing on other expertise where required

Flexibility and adaptability to different workloads and roles within the company
