▶ About This Opportunity

Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY:

The Category Analyst will directly support the Sr. Category Manager of Services, and be primarily responsible for collecting, researching, and analyzing data to support the decision-making process. Responsible for understanding Category Managers’ business intent and executing that intent through report building, occasional project work, and serving as a functional SME by gaining expertise in 7-Eleven’s proprietary business systems.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Support the on-going needs of the Services Team, including:

 

· Coordinates with Sr. Category Manager and Category Managers to understand key Services strategies/tactics and initiatives to ascertain reporting intent and build/enhance reporting and verification

· With direction from the Sr. CM, collaborate cross-functionally, and with manufacturer analytics and insights teams to build robust, sustainable reporting and modeling to drive accurate, timely data driven decision making

· Maintains and distributes standard category performance reports, inclusive of deriving insights from such data/reporting and building/updating presentations for socialization

· Accountable to monthly accounting alignment and review to ensure category is on track towards tactical, P&L, and budget goals.

· Build and manage tracking and project schedules associated with active and upcoming initiatives

· Execute analysis to provide recommendations to support external team functions such as New Item setup, Field Operation inquiries and Manufacturer partner retail & promo analysis

· Ad-hoc special projects directly related to the business unit, inclusive of modernization efforts which require collaboration with multiple departments, 3rd party groups, and manufacturers

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

· Strong interpersonal, and written communication skills.

· Must have strong demonstrated analytical acumen and capability with MS Excel and Power Point.

· Competency with both standard and custom Business Intelligence systems, such as Power BI.

· Position requires high school diploma plus 3 to 4 years experience with heavy PC usage.

· Project Analyst experience / College education is also strongly preferred.
