Qualifications:
EDUCATION

 

Bachelors degree in nursing and Masters degree in nursing or other applicable areas of study. Certified in a Nursing or Healthcare related field in Administrative, Clinical, or Executive practice by a professional nursing or healthcare related organization, i.e., American Organization of Nursing Executives, Association of Peri-operative Registered Nurses.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

Strong hands-on, clinical background, with a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in nursing leadership. Union experience preferred. Strong operational and financial acumen with a track record of leading and partnering around a vision for clinical excellence. An individual who is known to be a highly effective leader - who can both sit at the executive table and relate to and engage with interdisciplinary teams of clinicians, specifically bedside caregivers. An approachable and energetic individual who is visible and wants to serve those closest to the patient. An individual who has the ability to infuse enthusiasm and to encourage nurses to learn and accept accountability for their own professional development.

Strong demonstrated transformational and matrixed leadership skills (inspires, problem solves, communicates across multiple organizations, and executes) to champion the organization's vision. Specialized training in patient safety and quality. A leader in the field of patient services management who is well-versed in best practices in nursing and patient care, magnet hospital requirements, Institute of Medicine Report, Institute of Health Performance Improvement/Quality Management Protocols, and other best practices in performance improvement and quality management. A dynamic patient care services management leader with an entrepreneurial and creative mind. A leader with advanced skills in communication and relationship-building; has a track record of fostering excellent working relationships with clinician and non-clinician colleagues. Knowledge of labor relations, economics, and nursing-related legislation. An articulate, adaptable team player. A reflective, thoughtful leader capable of translating, communicating, and energizing a team to achieve excellence in performance improvement.
