Overview:
This position will be hybrid 3 days per week in office in Houston TX, Austin TX or Chicago IL.

TRC Companies is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Human Resources reporting directly to SVP, Human Resources.  This position will oversee HR operations for the Environmental (EV) and Infrastructure (IF) sectors of TRC including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, employee engagement, and HR compliance.  The Senior HR Director will be the HR Business Partner to EV & IF leadership and the employee champion (approximately 2,700 employees).  This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of HR best practices, and a proven track record of driving organizational and business success through effective HR initiatives. In addition, this position requires someone who will roll up their sleeves and work with the team to get the job done. 

Responsibilities:
Collaborate, as the HR Business Partner, with business leaders to understand organizational goals and implement HR strategies to support the business while engaging and developing employees.

Collaborate with our business leaders and talent acquisition team to address workforce planning, recruitment needs, and staffing requirements.

Partner with talent acquisition and HR Operations to ensure a smooth candidate hiring and onboarding experience.

Oversee employee relations activities, providing guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and compliance matters.

Drive performance management processes, including goal setting and KPIs, performance reviews and career development.

Design and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs to ensure alignment with industry standards and employee needs.

Lead training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills, capabilities, and engagement and be the liaison for participation into other TRC sponsored employee development programs (RISE, LEAD, BRIDGE, SPIRIT, STEP, etc.).

Collaborate with EV & IF leadership specific to employee engagement and development programs.

Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion through the organization, promoting equal opportunities and a respectful work environment.

Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local employment laws and regulations. Collaborate with VP HR Compliance to update HR policies and practices as needed.

Collaborate with senior management to address organizational challenges and drive positive change initiatives.

Work with your team to handle service desk inquires and day-to-day HR administrative functions to ensure all deadlines are met.

Assist with other HR projects, as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

10+ years of proven experience as an HR Business Partner in a large organization, including 5+ years as a people leader.

Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations in the US, Canada, and UK.

In-depth knowledge of HR principles and best practices.

Progressive thinker with the ability to bring creative solutions to the table.

Flexibility to work across multiple time zones from Hawaii to the UK.

Ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching to all levels across the organization.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).

Experience in services industry.
