Responsibilities:
Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures to patients while performing studies; evaluates the clinical history of a patient with the test to be performed; consults with physicians to determine appropriate ultrasonic procedures required; recognizes the significance of all structures that are visualized on the oscilloscope at all times; differentiates artifacts from normal or pathological processes and recognizes electronic equipment limitations; properly labels, coats, and mounts the permanent recording of the scans for protection and filing; researches, develops, and recommends new procedures and techniques to be used; provides in-service training to students and other personnel in ultrasound; maintains scan logs and procedure manuals; maintains service records on ultrasound equipment; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; performs related duties as required.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and four years allied health or patient care experience, two of which must have been full-time clinical ultrasound or vascular experience. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as designated by the ARDMS registry eligibility requirements. RDMS registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
