Job Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Position requires operation of the scrap saw. Tasks are performed in compliance with safety policies, safe work practices and procedures, and within OSHA Safety guidelines. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Operates scrap saw.

Examines all scrap tubing generated and cuts out all prime material.

Generates tags and places tags on bundles.

Maintains prime inventory and scrap tubing bundles in an organized manner.

Collects flattening test & dimension samples.

Assists mill crew with changeover after all scrap tubing has been sorted.

Maintains and cleans work area daily.

Must have successfully completed OJT & JSA training.

Ability to cross train others for the position and be cross trained elsewhere as needed.

Complies with policies and OSHA guidelines affecting machine operations, such as; but not limited to:

Lock Out ~ Tag Out. 

Attends all scheduled company and safety meetings.

Follows and enforces company safety policies and safe work practices at all times.

Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation with other employees and supervisors.

 

PHYSICAL & WORK REQUIREMENTS: 

Personal Protective Equipment required in all positions. Use of other hand tools and equipment may also

            be required.

Occasional overtime.

Warehouse environment, uncontrolled climate year-round.

Dusty and noisy work environment within OSHA guidelines.

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

 

REQUIRED BACKGROUND, COMPETENCIES & EXPERTISE: 

Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.

Must have sufficient reading and writing abilities to perform essential duties.

Good verbal and written communication are a plus.

Self‐motivated.

High school diploma or G.E.D.
