Assistant Director of Nursing / Unit Manager

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing / Unit Manager to join our team at 42 bed skilled nursing home. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents while overseeing the daily operations of a designated nursing unit.

This is an exempt position.  Salary range: $83000 - $(phone number removed) annually

Qualifications:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school in nursing. Bachelor’s degree (BSN) in nursing preferred.

Progressive professional experience in long-term care nursing supervision / management

Current knowledge and practice of accepted standards of professional nursing practice

Working knowledge of Pharmacology

Extensive knowledge of Quality Measures

Working knowledge of Medicare Part A and Part B payment systems

Must demonstrate competency in skills and techniques necessary to care for residents’ needs as identified through resident assessments, and as described in the plan of care

Ability to prioritize, multitask, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

Responsibilities:
Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop and implement clinical protocols and best practices to optimize resident care outcomes.

Conduct regular assessments of residents' health status and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.

Train,supervise, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet resident needs and regulatory requirements.

Conduct regular staff meetings, providing updates on policies, procedures, and resident care initiatives.

Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation processes to maintain high standards of care.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize resident care.

Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, residents, families, and other stakeholders, addressing concerns and ensuring open communication channels.

Stay abreast of current trends, developments, and best practices in nursing and long-term care through continuing education and professional development.

Responsible for maintaining and updating the resident care plan and informing staff of changes.

Completes all appropriate investigation and documentation for resident, employee or visitor accidents/incidents.

Completes employee evaluations.

Completes all assigned Quality Assurance audits.

Other duties as assigned to insure safe and effective operation of the nursing unit.
