This job opportunity closely aligns all these key strategic pillars. This role will take responsibility for ensuring that products get where they need to be in an efficient manner. Will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of our distribution activities, as well as expected to be strategic planners involved in helping the company progress. The role specially involves managing the company’s 3PL/4PL relationships, own and deliver customer performance requirements, and manage down logistics costs in both the short and medium term. This is full time role in a fast-paced environment. Traveling to various distribution centers or manufacturing plants will be part of the job.

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

Financial Outcomes

Owns logistics budgets, delivers costs versus budget performance. Will be able to deep dive on cost inefficiencies and address root-cause in partnership with the 3PL team. Deliverables will include continuously finding optimal ways to store and transport items.

Customer Service & External

Works very closely with various people both inside and outside of the company to deliver BEST IN CLASS order fulfilment performance to customers’ expectations (e.g. Walmart’s SQEP, On-Time for major retailers).

Manages the 3PL relationship including negotiations, contracts and holds them accountable to deliverables and improvement. Hands-on with resolving logistics vendor issues, coordination of expediting needs of plants, timely warehouse shipments to customers, and new route set-up/development within supply chain.

Internal Processes

Manage, report KPI’s, drive digitization of where metrics are ad-hoc. Establish corrective actions for underperforming metrics to ensure performance standards are met (such as Logistics Spend, On Time Delivery, Load Efficiency, Expedite Costs, etc).

Develops short and long-range plans and goals for the organization in the logistics area. Will recommend network optimization and other solutions for higher operating efficiency using a cost-to-serve mindset.

Carries out Management responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include leading and coordinating the work of others, facilitating, coaching, training; planning and assigning work; managing and appraising job performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

People Management

Coaching and development of direct reporting roles.

Requirements

What are the Critical Success Factors for the Role ?

Bachelor's degree preferred and 10 plus years of hands-on experience.

Experienced in raising performance delivery of retail customer expectations: e.g. On-Time, Chargeback reductions, Perfect Order.

Previous experience to warehousing, transportation and customer order fulfilment.

Worked in CPG industry or 3PL organization servicing a mid-sized CPG customer.

Financial acumen to effectively manage a large annual budget.

Knowledge of SAP, EDI, ASN etc. (CRM, customer portals etc is a plus).

Experienced in RFP, negotiation, onboarding and collaborating with 3PL partners.

Demonstrates a strong bias for FACTS, ACTION, OUTCOME, and a CUSTOMER FIRST mindset.

Proven ability to perform well and with a high degree of accuracy under guidelines.

Understanding of coffee industry and global supply chain.

Strong negotiation skills to influence outcomes internally and externally.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to aid in building relationships.

Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyze data.

Team building, project management, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to communicate effectively and influence across all levels of the business.

Proven ability to develop and maintain customer/business relationships.

What are the Desirable Success Factors for the Role?

Proactively manage Retailer performance KPIs inclusive of Fines/Fees with Strategic Retailers.

Logistics cost efficiency including importing & exporting.

Freight Claim Management, elimination of customer fines and fees.

Review and approval of warehousing, logistics invoices and rates.

Partner with Field Sales team to identify Supply Chain Efficiency opportunities for strategic retailers in support of JBP Conversations.

Align with Field Sales team on 30/60/90-day customer event planning in order to deliver with great service.

Reduce risk of slow moving and obsoletes in the distribution network.

Integration of line extensions/new customers into current processes.

ERP/EDI etc process support.
