ED Supervisor

Operates within Memorial Healths mission, vision, goals and objectives. ED Supervisor is directly responsible for the safe and efficient flow of the emergency patient populations. ED Supervisor role includes balancing both leadership and management responsibilities: staffing, establishing goals and objectives for the unit, formulating standards of care in line with evidence based practice, managing budgets, and quality improvement activities. The ED supervisor role is also responsible for hiring, coordinating orientation and evaluating staff on an on-going basis.
Demonstrates excellent clinical skills and acts as a resource to the staff in all areas of emergency nursing. Collaborates with ancillary departments for timely care to ED patients and throughput of department operations.
Qualifications:
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
· Current licensure as an R.N. in the State of Illinois.
· Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN) preferred.
· ACLS, TNS or TNCC, PALS or ENPC required
Experience:
· Three (3) years’ direct care experience in emergency nursing required.
· Prefer experience as ED Charge nurse
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal communication skills is required.
· Ability to work across multiple sites of care required.
· Interprofessional relationships
