Overview:

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: 

Associate Degree in Nursing

 

Specialized knowledge in breastfeeding gained by formal education, self-study, and experience providing breastfeeding assistance to mothers and babies

 

Licensure, Registration, Certification: 

BLS

 

One of the following: 

Current Alabama RN license

Current Multi State RN license in accordance with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama*

*Infirmary Health abides by the NLC requirements and guidelines for the state of Alabama

 

International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant

 

Desired Qualifications: 

BSN degree in Nursing

Responsibilities:
Designs and conducts lactation, breastfeeding and breast care educational programs to meet regulatory and patient demands and to support achievement of Infirmary Health’s standards of quality, efficiency and desired outcomes.
