Overview:
Summary of Position Requirements

The Construction Manager Trainer is responsible for ensuring Construction Managers and Construction Manager Trainees have the knowledge and skills to effectively and appropriately follow Lennar’s construction policies, processes, and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Travel to communities to conduct on-site field training with Construction staff

Conduct needs analysis studies and confer with Director of Construction to determine development and training needs

Collaborate with external vendors and service providers as needed to augment training offerings and delivery tools

Develop and deliver a process to actively support the growth, placement and retention of high potential employees across the Division

Lead Division to ensure delivery of services and that change objectives are achieved

Perform random audits during the construction process to ensure Scopes of Work are being enforced and followed, during the construction process to ensure quality control, and of materials dropped by suppliers

Review plans, take offs and budges for new communities and plans to resolve possible issues before the community or plan starts and manage all plan sets

Analyze plans for cost analysis recommendations

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred

Valid Driver’s License with good driving record

Valid Auto Insurance Coverage

Minimum of 3 years experience in construction or project management, preferably with a National Homebuilder

Minimum 3 years experience in leading organizational training and development programs

Knowledge of adult learning theory and training design

Computer literate with the ability to work with JD Edwards, Auto CAD, Buzzsaw, Build Pro/Supply Pro, and Excel preferred

Full understanding of residential construction and architectural design

Good writing and organization skills

Superior presentation and training skills

Strong negotiation skills

Possess strong work ethic, integrity, and loyalty

 

Contacts

Daily interaction with various division personnel, outside agencies, business partners, consultants and vendors.

 

Physical Requirements

Requires the ability to work in excess of eight hours per day in the confined quarters of an office and/or the field environment.  Also requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry items that are less than 50 pounds.  Finger dexterity required in operating a computer keyboard and a calculator.  Office work requires sitting at a computer monitor for extended periods of time, completing paperwork, and meeting with vendors and contractors and to receive/return phone messages.  Standing is required for filing and copying.
