Responsibilities:
Assist the anesthesia provider in the acquisition, preparation, and application of the anesthesia equipment and supplies required for the safe administration of anesthesia. Participate in safe, efficient and cost effective anesthesia care. Provide support in anesthesia for routine and complex surgical and non-surgical cases by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient monitoring devices, anesthesia delivery systems, medicines, and supplies before, during, and after anesthesia cases.

 

Perform certain complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, at the direction of the anesthesia staff. Inventory of supplies in rooms. Clean and stock rooms after surgeries. Verify drugs and supplies are not outdated. May set-up drips, A-Lines and Central Lines. Using sterile technique gown and glove to set up lines and assist the anesthesia provider with placement of lines in patient. Help position the patient for surgery. Assist provider with intubation. Assist provider with extubation. Help provider transport patient to recovery.

 

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

Acquire and prepare anesthesia equipment and supplies.

Inventory, order and/or stock supplies.

Clean and stock surgical rooms.

Assist anesthesia provider.

Participates in the direct services of the Department.

Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications

Required Education and Experience 

High School Graduate or GED required 

Required Licensure and Certifications

BLS-CPR within 5 days of employment

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

Experience as an anesthesia technician.
