Overview:
We are looking for someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our Culinary team as an Assistant Baker. This individual must be creative, motivated, and passionate about growing their talents in the kitchen
Successful candidates for this role will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong desire to learn, to develop skills and work with the culinary leadership team to create menus which reflect seasonal availability and concept of the restaurant.

The Assistant Baker assists in production and fabrication of baked products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining. Follows recipes and/or product directions to prepare items from scratch such as breads, rolls, muffins, biscuits, etc.

Places products into correctly prepared pans.

Regulates the drafts and temperatures of the ovens.

Places items in ovens.

Removes baked items from ovens and applies appropriate toppings.

May clean and sanitize workstations and equipment.

Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.

Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.

Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.

Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.

Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.

May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Active Food handler’s certification or the ability to get it 

Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts

Requires strong organizational skills

Must be able to work independently

Able to be on your feet for long periods of time

Able to lift at least 50 pounds

At least 21 years of age

Have a desire to exceed expectation

 

Compensation Range:
The compensation for this position is $23.85/Hr. - $29.82/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
